Terms of Service
Plain-language Terms of Service for the ShotDial app and website.
What ShotDial is
ShotDial logs your espresso shots and returns suggestions for how to adjust grind, dose, yield, time and temperature. Suggestions are informational only — they are starting points for your next pull, not guarantees of a particular result.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity on your account. You must be old enough to agree to these terms in your jurisdiction (typically 13+, or 16+ in parts of the EU).
Acceptable use
- Don't try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service.
- Don't use the service to harm others or violate the law.
- Don't submit content you don't have the right to submit.
Your content
Your brew log and notes belong to you. You grant us only the permission needed to store, process and display that content back to you, and to send relevant non-personal portions to AI and search providers as described in the Privacy Policy.
Apple App Store
If you download ShotDial from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. That agreement is between you and ShotDial's operator, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
No warranty
ShotDial is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee that diagnoses will be accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that data will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShotDial and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Where local law does not allow these limitations, the operator's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars (US$100), whichever is greater.
Termination
You can stop using ShotDial at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially or repeatedly breach these terms, or where needed to protect the service or comply with the law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply afterward.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date on this page and, where appropriate, by a notice in the app. Continuing to use ShotDial after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law & identity
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. ShotDial is operated by Rohit Gandhi, an individual based in California.
